No rushed contracts for the Delos Cloud

The Federal Chancellery is currently exerting strong pressure on the federal states to conclude immediate cloud contracts with Delos, a German version of the Microsoft Azure Cloud. On 27 June 2024, a corresponding resolution is to be passed at a special meeting of the IT Planning Council.

Despite significant data protection, procurement, security and strategic concerns about Delos and the parallel work of the Federal IT Cooperation (FITKO) on the German Administration Cloud, the aim is to quickly create facts that are irreversible. This is in stark contrast to the goals of the federal government.
