Benefits of Rocket.Chat

The exchange of files or audio/video conferences in real time facilitate team communication. The conversation is encrypted and the software can either be installed on your server or you can use the EGroupware Rocket.Chat server from the German data centre. You always have control over your data.

How does Rocket.Chat work?

Rocket.chat is an open source solution that has been integrated into EGroupware.  This means that the installation and use of a team chat is now very easy from EGroupware. You can release the software for corresponding users or groups via the administration. Then create different team chats within Rocket.Chat.

The advantage of the mobile app is that you can take your communication centre with you wherever you go. Even independently of EGroupware, you always stay informed about current projects and can make video calls.

You can download the client for the different platforms directly from the Rocket.Chat website. There you will find even more information about Rocket.Chat.

Notification by email or push

If you are not logged into EGroupware or your Rocket.Chat, you will be informed of a new message by email. It is also possible to install the Rocket.Chat application additionally on your PC or mobile phone. Push notifications inform you directly on your mobile phone. So you will never miss a chat again.

Communication directly from the Status App

See directly who is currently “available” (online) in EGroupware. With a right click on the picture of the participant, you can send them a chat message or start a video conference.

To start a conversation with your colleagues, you can either call up the Rocket.Chat module directly or, even easier, address the participants directly via the Status App with a right-click.

Each participant can set their own availability status.
